Sunni is a collector of experiences, lover of words, input addict, deep feeler, and community builder. She has taught in varied contexts with diverse learners including English learners in Italy, Latvia, China, and Spain; high school students in a church ministry setting; undergraduate pre-service teachers at Texas A&M University; and middle and high school students at a private independent school in Texas.

Sunni earned her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University with an emphasis in English as a Second Language. She graduated with an MA in Cross-cultural ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary and a BA in English from Texas Christian University.

As the wife of a firefighter/paramedic and the mom of a son with intense feelings, Sunni prioritizes mental health and emotional intelligence in both her personal and professional spheres.
