Goodbye, Elizabeth! Hello, Adam!

Dear EQuipped Leaders,

Hi! I have big news: I’m saying goodbye to the Applied EQ Group

and to this blog

and to you.

I feel a lot of feelings about it, and I wanted to tell you, and thank you, and introduce what’s next for the AEQ blog.

My first post for AEQ was 9/1/21. I was SO nervous and excited. Since then, I’ve written 112 blog posts. 112 email letters to you. 112 weeks of our lives. And this is the last one from me. Lucky 113.

When I was a teacher, I was always disappointed with the last day of school. It just fizzled for me. Kids left at different times. Everyone was so done and ready for it to be over. It felt very anticlimactic to me. I was looking for some sort of closing ceremony to say goodbye to the school year and to each other. Did this mean anything? This time we all spent together? It’s just over now?

So I want to take the time to say goodbye to you and thank you for being here with me each week. It has meant a lot to me.

I got the space here to learn how to feel my feelings, and reflect on my teaching career, and learn how to be the kind of person and mother I want to be.

And if you weren’t here–showing up with me each week, I don’t know what my career would like right now. This experience has changed me and grown me, and I’m really grateful. I needed this space. I needed to be heard. Thank you for saying “yes” to me and this blog every week when you opened this newsletter.

What has this journey been like for you? What drew you here or kept you here? What have you experienced? What has changed for you over these 2 and half years we’ve spent together? What are you looking for now that you’re further along on your EQ journey?

I’m pleased to share Adam will be taking charge of EQuipping you with more EQ goodness from now on. You don’t have to do anything. You will continue having helpful AEQ content delivered to you.

I’m so grateful for you and this time we spent together. Goodbye!

Stay Soft,

Elizabeth
